Wynn Resorts Analyses Quarterly Performance of Two Casinos
During a meeting held by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC), Wynn Resorts revealed that business hasn’t been going well for the Encore Boston Harbour located in Boston. The company told the regulators that ways of doing things in Las Vegas do not particularly work in certain places, such as Boston. Wynn Resorts stated that they have noticed that in terms of operations, business in Boston is different. When it comes to parking, the company says trying to charge for parking in Boston did not work. The company had to offer free self-parking for all guests. Wynn Resorts say they want to be Greater Boston’s hometown casino.
The Encore Boston Harbour table game minimum was also adjusted from $50 to $15. Encore is producing more money on the 166 table games compared to its 3,100 slot machines. The company reported the lowest GGR win in October since it opened in June. Winning from slot came up to $22.28 million, while tables won $23.52 million.

Things have been doom and gloom for Wynn Resorts after Nevada Gaming Control Board has imposed a ban on casino mogul, Steve Wynn. In 2018, sexual assault allegations against Wynn surfaced. The casino mogul and founder of Wynn Resorts has since resigned from the company and denied the accusations. In a 23-page complaint, the gaming regulator stated that Wynn’s behavior causes harm to the reputation of the gaming industry. The regulator also seeks to possibly revoke Wynn’s gaming license. Wynn’s net is estimated at $3.1 billion by Forbes.

The company states that they want to keep the Boston without coming across as a Vegas casino in Boston.
